So for the past week I have been under the weather and this is the first morning that I have felt half decent so I am having coffee and updating my blog. Last night we had a Birthday dinner for Victoria. My little Leo girl’s big day was actually on the 8th but she spent the day with a friend so we decided to have steaks and a cake on Tuesday instead. I can’t believe that my baby is going into high school now. It seems like once they get there they are graduating as soon as you blink an eye! I better start saving for her grad dress now! It doesn’t seem that long ago that I was her age and she looks so much like me and my sister it at that age that it’s all a little surreal! I am hoping that she won’t give me too much trouble as a teenager……..really hoping! Hahahahaha! But I have learned after the first one that it is crucial to pick your battles in order to downplay the rebellion! Also she is a practical kid that has direction and plans in her life and that will help as well. I am sure that she will experiment with different things out there (and how can they not with everything and every opportunity shoved into their faces all the time!) but I am pretty sure that she will be smart and responsible in her choices. As a Leo she is definitely a leader and not a follower so I don’t think I have too much to worry about in terms of peer pressure. Also we have a great relationship communication wise too. “Hope for the best, prepare for the worst” is my motto in life and it serves me well. Would love to hear any feedback from anyone teens or their parents or anyone who has something to say! Feel free!!

I love that they have that connection because they all live so far away from each other. Way to go John for doing such a fabulous job! Hibiscus
One of my favorite flowers but never have any luck growing them! This time I have taken the time to read up on them. Well I found out that they have a dormant period in the winter and lose their leaves. Because they are dormant they don't need much water. Guess what I was doing to them? Oh yeah I was watering the heck out of them thinking they were dying! LOL DUH!!!! So maybe research before buying is a good thing! haha I'll keep you posted on how this one does!

It sounds like you already know what you're doing...so just keep doing. My girls were not the easiest from 14-18 BUT they were not the worst either...just very moody! 3 down and 2 left for me and so far so good I would say to...
ReplyDeleteVictoria is an awesome gal and such a normal little Leo ;) I was a little Leo like her once...my advice is to just allow her to be make her choices (even when they are not what you would want)and don't tell her what she should do, just offer her your views/advice and always keep positive lines open, cause she is going to do what she wants to do anyways...that is her only happiness!
It sounds like you are on the right track with her right now...and you are sooooo smart and wise ;)
Thanks Dane! I certainly value your opinion as you have raised 5 great kids and 4 of them girls at that! haha plus you are also a Leo and know what you are talking about when it comes to the Fire Signs!
