Petersen/Haskett Happenings

So for the past week I have been under the weather and this is the first morning that I have felt half decent so I am having coffee and updating my blog. Last night we had a Birthday dinner for Victoria. My little Leo girl’s big day was actually on the 8th but she spent the day with a friend so we decided to have steaks and a cake on Tuesday instead. I can’t believe that my baby is going into high school now. It seems like once they get there they are graduating as soon as you blink an eye!  I better start saving for her grad dress now! It doesn’t seem that long ago that I was her age and she looks so much like me and my sister it at that age that it’s all a little surreal! I am hoping that she won’t give me too much trouble as a teenager……..really hoping! Hahahahaha! But I have learned after the first one that it is crucial to pick your battles in order to downplay the rebellion! Also she is a practical kid that has direction and plans in her life and that will help as well.  I am sure that she will experiment with different things out there (and how can they not with everything and every opportunity shoved into their faces all the time!) but I am pretty sure that she will be smart and responsible in her choices. As a Leo she is definitely a leader and not a follower so I don’t think I have too much to worry about in terms of peer pressure. Also we have a great relationship communication wise too. “Hope for the best, prepare for the worst” is my motto in life and it serves me well.  Would love to hear any feedback from anyone teens or their parents or anyone who has something to say!
