Easier said than done right? It's so easy to get caught up in all the stress that's out there today and really it's all about meaningless stuff that doesn't even really matter in the grand scheme of things! Who cares if your house isn't perfectly clean or if you don't have a car as nice as the Jones' (By the way who are the Jones'?) When my kids were little I was obsessed with getting the house perfect. I would not even let myself sit down and relax until I felt it was perfect and guess what? It was never perfect!! There was ALWAYS one more thing to do and it was never ending!! I learned that laundry never gets caught up....ever! I was exhausted!! Victoria was just a baby so I went in to the Drs for our check up and she commented on how tired I looked so I told her about my insane obsession with perfection and she told me that when my kids were older and I looked back at the memories all I would really be able to remember was that I had a really clean house! Well thank god for her because now I remember her saying that to me and knocking some sense back into my crazy little head! I decided to let it go and just enjoy my kids while they were young. Not that I didn't struggle evry now and then but now I have great memories with them. In fact today at the Kelowna airport Victoria and I had to wait a bit for her flight to Onatrio and it was pretty fun! We sat and talked and laughed a lot. Mostly about memories of the kid's growing up years. When we were in the gift shop I found this very inexpensive (can you believe that in a souvenir shop?) little necklace made by Simplicity and it says Harmony on it. You are supposed to wear it to remind yourself to:Embrace the simple things in life so I bought it and I am going to wear it as a reminder. This also reminded me to get out my gratitude rock more often and really think about what to be grateful for. A few years ago we took Dylan and Victoria up to the tunnel in Naramata and we (the kids and I) were talking about picking a special rock to remind us of the things we are grateful for so I chose my rock that day to remind me of all the wonderful things in my life. So I am going to carry it around with me more often and actually look at it and think about it. So today was a good day :)

Sarah's beautiful flower tatoos done by her very talented boyfriend John. These are Dylan and Victoria's birth month flowers and they are so beautiful! I love that they have that connection because they all live so far away from each other. Way to go John for doing such a fabulous job! I'm sure it is stunning in person and I am hoping to be able to experience that soon! Miss you sweetie :) xoxoxoxoxoxox
Hibiscus
One of my favorite flowers but never have any luck growing them! This time I have taken the time to read up on them. Well I found out that they have a dormant period in the winter and lose their leaves. Because they are dormant they don't need much water. Guess what I was doing to them? Oh yeah I was watering the heck out of them thinking they were dying! LOL DUH!!!! So maybe research before buying is a good thing! haha I'll keep you posted on how this one does!
Olden Days
This makes me feel nostalgic! I love to see these old tractors but makes me kinda sad too. Times are a changin'!
Love this spot!
So sad when a beautiful piece of property like this one succumbs to the modern world. This land will soon house a movie theater and some commercial stores! :(

That's awesome Cathy! I really do try to do my best, to keep life simple and not let it get complicated. I really need to prioritize more though and man can I get distracted that I feel I am not getting things done. It is important for me to remember what I am greatful for and I am truly a blessed woman.
